Max graduated from Hobart High School in May 2021 where he developed engineering skills such as computer aided design and additive manufacturing. Currently he is a senior at Indiana University on track to graduate in May 2025 with a B.S. in chemistry. Max joined the FAMES Lab in August 2021 as a part of the Cox Research Scholars Program with the goal to combine chemistry, engineering, and manufacturing in his work. Since, he has worked on modifying 3D printers, drawing multi-polymer fibers to mimic structures found in nature, 3D printing doped silica glass, and drawing 3D printed core optical fibers. During the summers of 2023 and 2024, Max interned in the High Performance Materials group at Lawrence Livermore National Lab where he worked on the characterization, additive manufacturing, and sintering of high temperature materials.
