Troy Leffel graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics in 2019. In 2020, he completed a Master’s Degree in Intelligent Systems Engineering at Indiana University specializing in molecular and nanoscale engineering. Troy’s interests include sustainable energy systems, materials science, optics, and machine learning.

Troy is currently a process engineer at the FAMES Lab, responsible for various major piece of equipment; namely, the draw tower, the spark plasma sintering hot press, the ExOne binder jetting 3D printer, and the glass lathe. He also handles modifications of existing equipment and the development of new equipment for high temperature processes. In cleanroom terms, he is a bay engineer.
